WOULD YOU RISK BEING ARRESTED?

“Jesus. . . whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by Him this man stands before you whole.”

WOULD YOU RISK BEING ARRESTED?

Jesus. . . whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by Him this man stands before you whole.” (Acts 4:10)

A group of friends were on a pleasure trip together on the highway. They spotted a car broken down and a family standing by the roadside, stranded. They promptly pulled over to offer help. After an hour, the men managed to get the car running again. While talking to the parents of the children, they learned they were on their way to visit an ailing relative in another town. So, they gave the mother and father some money for gasoline and wished them well. As the couple offered profuse thanks, the men replied saying they were glad to help and that the Lord Jesus was the source of their inspiration.

Might you have spoken those words?
Would you be willing to offer such an act of kindness if you ran the risk of being arrested?

We read of the apostles Peter and John also extending similar generosity to a stranger who needed healing just outside the temple in Jerusalem. (Acts 3:1-10) Their action led to their arrest by the authorities. But when questioned, they boldly declared the resurrection power of Christ that had healed the man. (Acts 4) Let us not miss any opportunity to introduce the Lord Jesus to those who may not know Him, even if it cost us something.
