Dear Sandy,
I am so thrilled you confessed your sins and ask Jesus to control your life. Let me assure you the feelings will follow your faith. Whether you feel anything or not, God’s tells us in the Bible in 1 John chapter 1 verse 9 that:

"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

One thing you can trust is God’s Holy word. If God said it in His word, it is true. Feelings will catch up with your faith.

Here are three suggestions for you:
1. Read a portion of God’s word every day. Before you read scripture, ask the Holy Spirit of God to teach you. I like to read part of the Gospel (the books Matthew, Mark, Luke or John), and one or two Psalm a day. Reading scripture iand meditating on it is vital. This is a good place to start.
2. Take time every day to pray – talk to God and then be still and listen to Him talk to you.
3. Find a group of fellow Christians with whom you can study the Bible and pray.

This probably will be in a Church that emphasizes teaching God’s word.
Blessing on you, Sandy.
